Oklahoma uses alternative education programs to reduce dropouts and enhance graduation rates across the state. While, every program must incorporate 17 research-based components that include individualized and effective instruction, clear and measurable program goals and objectives, counseling and social service components, and individualized graduation plans for all students, the approach of each district or cooperative program reflects local differences. The video linked below tells the story of three Oklahoma students and how each of their alternative education programs enabled them to become successful graduates.

WHAT'S NEW?

The Oklahoma Schools Alt Ed Association is seeking members committed to improving the quality of alternative education in the State of Oklahoma.  The organizational meeting was held on December 4, 2017. Bylaws were passed and the following individuals were elected to serve:
The Executive Board Meeting was held on February 13, 2018. The general membership meeting will be held in the summer. We would also like to set up regional groups that can meet more often. To meet our goals, we need members who are willing to network, share expertise or serve on committees. To join, simply click here to complete the membership form.
