Student Test Scores and New Academic Standards

Recently, 2016-17 student tests scores were shared with families. If you received your student's test scores, you may have noted that they appeared very different from previous years. Please take a moment to visit Assessment Guidance page for help understanding all the changes.

This school year represents a new beginning and A TOTAL RESET; no comparison is possible with student or school performance in past years. It will become the baseline for student and school performance as we continue efforts to position every Oklahoma student on the leading edge for success.

With this reset, your student may not completely understand the results so as a parent or caregiver, it's important to remain positive, encouraging, and visit the Assessment Guidance page to help with explaining the change to your student and what it means.

Our Core Beliefs

Henderson, Mapp, Johnson, and Davies identify four core beliefs that serve as the foundation for working with families to build authentic partnerships. Our goal is to provide resources and supports for families, for schools and for communities that embrace and demonstrate these foundational beliefs.

Core Belief  1

All parents have dreams for their children and want the best for them.

Core Belief  2

All parents have the capacity to support their children’s learning.

Core Belief  3

Parents and school staff should be equal partners.

Core Belief  4

The responsibility for building partnerships between school and home rests primarily with school staff, especially school leaders.
