Virtual School Commission Bill Passes in Subcommittee

Senate Bill 1816, which would create a State Virtual School Sponsoring Commission passed by a vote of 10-1 in the Appropriations and Budget Subcommittee on Monday, April 2, 2012. The commission would provide oversight of approved virtual education providers and report by November 1 each year to the governor, president pro tempore of the Senate and speaker of the House of Representatives the performance of students enrolled with the providers, enrollment numbers and expenditures.
