Juanita Kidd, Longtime Oklahoma Educators Hall of Fame Member Dies

Longtime Oklahoma Educators Hall of Fame Member Juanita Kidd died on Wednesday.

“I am saddened by news of the loss of this wonderful Oklahoma education leader,” Superintendent Barresi said. “Juanita Kidd provided many years of service to the children and educators in our state serving multiple roles. She will be missed. My prayers go out to her family.”

Kidd was inducted in the Educators Hall of Fame in 1986. During her tenure as an educator, Kidd served as a teacher, a counselor, director of information services of Tulsa County Vo-Tech Schools (now Tulsa Tech), director of high school and college relations at Central State University (now the University of Central Oklahoma), president of the Oklahoma Education Association, an assistant state director of the National Education Association and a member of the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority Board as well as a former chairwoman of the OETA.
