The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) has opened the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) competitive grant process for the 2013-2014 school year.
The 21st CCLC programs provide safe and engaging learning opportunities for students during their out-of-school hours. These programs offer academic enrichment activities and services such as Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education, tutoring, health and fitness education, mentoring, service learning and character education that align with the regular school day.
Eligible applicants must propose to serve students who attend a school site that is eligible for designation as a Title I schoolwide program. To be eligible for this designation at least 40 percent of the students must qualify to receive free or reduced-priced meals through the National School Lunch Program.
Faith-based and community-based organizations are encouraged to apply. A partnership with a local school district is required to be eligible. Local Education Agency (LEA) applicants must demonstrate partnerships with community-based organizations.
All applications must be completed and submitted through an ONLINE process.
