Milken Award Winner to be Recognized by State Board of Education, Legislature

Tammera Mittelstet, the 2012 winner of the $25,000 Milken Educator Award, will be recognized by the State Board of Eduction and the State Legislature in separate ceremonies on Thursday, April 25, 2013.
Mittelstet is a Gifted Resource Coordinator at Stillwater’s Highland Park Elementary and Will Rogers Elementary. She was awarded the prize in a surprise ceremony in November by State Superintendent Janet Barresi and Milken Family Foundation Board Member Dr. Thomas Boysen.
On Thursday, the State Board of Education will honor Mittelstet at 9:30 a.m. during the Board's regular monthly meeting.
A reception for Mittelstet will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Governors Blue Room on the Second Floor of the State Capitol.
She will be introduced on the House and Senate Floor at 1:30 p.m.
