Advisory: Teacher Shortage Task Force working groups to meet monthly.

The Oklahoma State Department of Education’s (OSDE) Teacher Shortage Task Force, announced in September, has organized three working groups. Each will hold a series of monthly meetings to find real solutions to the statewide teacher shortage crisis.

Each working group will identify specific solutions to test at different levels of Oklahoma’s education system. The groups’ goals include developing a marketing campaign to elevate teaching as a profession, launching innovative programs, and boosting awareness of existing recruitment and retention initiatives.

Meetings will take place from 3-5 p.m. at the OSDE in the Oliver Hodge Building, 2500 N. Lincoln Blvd., Oklahoma City. Some meetings may take place virtually. Please check with the OSDE communications office before making plans to cover a meeting.
