Dear District and School Leaders,

Yesterday's unanimous State Board of Education vote to close schools statewide was not a simple decision, and it will present a challenge to many families. But nothing takes precedence over the health and well being of Oklahomans. Nothing.

The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) stands ready to address any hurdles in our path to ensure our schools can remain closed as long as is necessary to protect the health of our students, educators, support staff and communities.

Please see our new COVID-19 FAQs for Oklahoma Public Schools document, which has been updated to reflect matters of concern related to statewide school closure until at least April 6. Please do not hesitate to let us know if you have additional questions or suggestions.

As always, thank you for all you do – and stay safe so we can continue to fight for what's right for kids.

Sincerely,

Joy Signature
