Dr. Ebony Johnson; Superintendent of Tulsa Public Schools
Dr. Johnson oversees the largest school district in Oklahoma, catering to nearly 34,000 students across 77 schools. A product of Tulsa Public Schools herself, graduating from McLain High School in 1994, Dr. Johnson embarked on a journey of educational leadership within the same district, commencing as a classroom teacher at Monroe Middle School in 1999. Her tenure saw transformative roles at various educational institutions within the district, implementing strategies that led to remarkable school turnarounds. Transitioning to administrative roles, she spearheaded initiatives as Executive Director of Student and Family Support Services, significantly reducing out-of-school suspensions. Appointed Chief Academic Officer in 2020, she now provides strategic direction across multiple educational domains, while also contributing as an adjunct professor at the University of Oklahoma. Dr. Johnson's academic achievements, community involvement, and numerous accolades underscore her dedication to education and service, all while proudly balancing family life as a devoted mother and wife.
