Information about the Elementary Mathematics Specialist Certification

OMES is a program that allows elementary and early childhood teachers to earn their elementary mathematics specialist certification in grades PK-5.

Program prerequisites

(1) have valid teacher certification in Elementary Education and/or Early Childhood Education; (2) have two years of full-time teaching experience in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5 at an accredited school under a valid state issued teacher credential.  

Ready for High School Math is a free course designed for eighth-grade students to develop critical-thinking skills that they will use throughout their high school studies. The course addresses elementary and middle school standards, including the topics of number sense, ratios and proportions, expressions and equations, algebra, functions, geometry, and statistics and probability, agreed to as essential college and career-readiness standards for most students.

Math Teacher Circles are for any educator, PreK-20, who is interested in engaging in mathematics and building a mathematics community. See below for upcoming national and regional Math Teacher Circle events.
