Oklahoma Academic Standards for the Social Studies,
Pre-Kindergarten - 12
On February 28, 2019, the Oklahoma State Board of Education adopted the Oklahoma Academic Standards for the Social Studies, Pre-K - 12 as the new Social Studies curriculum standards framework for Oklahoma's schools. The framework sets forth a challenging and focused course of study and is designed to lay the groundwork for citizenship development.

Programming Options For Services in Oklahoma Public Schools
Appropriate programming for gifted and talented students will include many options of curricular modification which are designed to meet the assessed needs of the students. Each programming option must provide challenging educational experiences for these students.
Many of the programming opportunities described here may be appropriate for able learners who have not been identified as gifted and talented according to the district policy.
Program Questions
How are gifted programs funded in Oklahoma?
Gifted programs are funded through the general state aid formula. All district allocation amounts can be viewed on the State Aid Gifted and Talented Weight website.
