Educational Interpreter Registry
The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) and the Oklahoma School for the Deaf (OSD) partner to update and maintain the educational interpreter registry and the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) Continuing Education Units (CEU) program.
Interpreters in Oklahoma who have EIPA credentials are required to obtain 1 (10 hours) CEU per calendar year. Interpreters are required to obtain .5 CEUs in an education related topic and .1 CEUs in ethics. The EIPA CEU cycle coincides with the Quality Assurance Screening Test (QAST) CEU cycle and began in January 2020. Any interpreter not obtaining the required CEUs will be taken off of the registry. If an interpreter does not meet certification requirements, mentoring opportunities may be available at OSD, free of charge for all Local Education Agencies (LEA) and interpreters.
