Walters Touts Benefits of Back to Basics Plan at Woodward Tech Facility

TAP Program Starts Kids on Technology Early
Woodward, Okla – State Superintendent Ryan Walters toured the High Plains Technology Center (HPTC) in Woodward today, met with local civic leaders, and continued to tout the benefits of his Back to Basics plan.
“The Technical Applications Program is forging new ground with a partnership between our schools and the business community,” said Walters. “Right here in Woodward, students are starting early in developing the technical skills they need to be successful adults. Our schools have focused too much on social experimentation and woke indoctrination and not enough on forging healthy, productive adults.”
“We want to build on the successes of programs like TAP through our Back to Basics program,” Walters continued. “Partnerships like these are a win/win for everyone: businesses get well- qualified candidates, and our students have a great way to forge a prosperous future.”
The Woodward tour highlighted the Technical Applications Program (TAP) at Woodward Middle School. TAP allows students to experience the programs offered at High Plains Technology Center as early as 6th grade. There they will learn fundamental skills and explore desirable career paths to become confident, successful adults. The TAP program at High Plains Technology Center is a cooperative effort to partner schools within a district with community leaders, business owners, parents, and students.
