Calls on Cardona to Resign

Oklahoma City, Okla – State Superintendent Ryan Walters has issued the following statement responding to the latest Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) results, an exam comparing academic performance in the U.S. against that of dozens of other countries. The results for American students were among the lowest ever measured by PISA in mathematics.

“Joe Biden and the Democrats have failed our kids, ” said Walters. “They have put America on a path of decline. Their school closures and anti-parent policies have resulted in a dramatic decline in our math scores and left America in a weakened position internationally.

For Secretary Cardona to claim success when our kids are falling behind so badly is beyond cynical, it is dangerous to our kids’ futures. In light of his latest failure of leadership, he should resign immediately to make way for someone who knows the difference between student success and self-serving Washington spin.

We cannot continue the Democrats’ failed, woke policies that prioritize unions and money over children. In Oklahoma, we will not.”
