Under Walters, OSDE Most Transparent in History

Oklahoma City, Okla – Under State Superintendent Ryan Walters, the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) has been the most transparent in agency history.
“Under my watch, OSDE has been open and transparent to the public, the Legislature, and the media, ” said Walters. “I pledged to Oklahomans that OSDE would be the most accessible and responsive in state history, and I am pleased to make good on that promise. I look forward to continuing to fulfill the public’s trust in our agency in 2024.”
Despite an unprecedented number of Open Records Requests (ORRs), the agency has maintained a remarkable record of responsiveness and transparency. As of November 30, there have been 607 total Open Records Requests, 488 of which had been fulfilled, with an average turnaround time of 31 days.
