Draft of English, math academic standards posted online for public review

 

OKLAHOMA CITY (July 6, 2015) — State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister is encouraging interested Oklahomans to review current version of proposed preK-12 academic standards for English language arts (ELA) and mathematics.

Applications open for 21st CCLC grants

 

OKLAHOMA CITY (July 6, 2015) - The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) is seeking applicants for 2015-2016 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) projects. The grant process is now open for schools and community organizations.

Supt. Hofmeister praises recipients of national teaching award

 

OKLAHOMA CITY (July 3, 2015) – State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister  praised two Oklahoma teachers who have been nationally recognized for their outstanding achievements in science and math.

Mark Thomas of Stillwater High School and Sarah Vann of Owasso Eighth Grade Center have been awarded the prestigious Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. Only 108 teachers nationwide receive this honor each year.
