Supt. Hofmeister applauds Gov. Fallin for signing legislation to improve education

 

OKLAHOMA CITY (June 3, 2015) — State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister today praised Gov. Fallin on her signing of several bills focused on improving public education in Oklahoma.

Among the legislation is Senate Bill 630, which extends the use of reading teams under the Reading Sufficiency Act through the next three school years. These teams — which include a child’s parent or guardian, current teacher, future teacher and reading specialist — make recommendations on whether a third-grader who scored

In November the eventual finalist will be named the state's Counselor of the Year and go on to compete for the national School Counselor of the Year.

Bob Ross - State Board of Education MemberRobert J. Ross currently serves as President and CEO and member of the Board of Directors of Inasmuch Foundation and Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation.  The Foundations were founded by Edith Kinney Gaylord in 1982. 

Cindy Koss, Ed. D., became deputy superintendent of academic performance and planning at the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) in 2015.

Koss, who has been executive director of secondary education for Oklahoma City Public Schools, will oversee instruction and curriculum at OSDE.
