The U.S. Department of Education awarded the state of Oklahoma with a $5 million Statewide Longitudinal Data Systems (SLDS) Grant in FY2012.

The Oklahoma State Department of Education is a member of the P20 Data Coordinating Council, created in 2009 by the State Legislature (Senate Bill 222, OS Section 3-163 of Title 70).

In addition, the Oklahoma Partnership for School Readiness (OPSR) works on a range of early childhood issues, including early childhood data and the connection of those data to the state's K12 student information system at the Oklahoma State Department of Education. OPSR also serves as Oklahoma's State Advisory Council for Early Childhood and is staffed and supported by Smart Start Oklahoma.
