The State Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting at Howe Public Schools this month.

The Oklahoma State Department of Education is offering $60,000 renewable grants for public schools to increase minority participation in Advanced Placement courses through the development of an Advancement Via Individual Determination – AVID program.
The deadline to apply is Feb. 15, 2013. Award announcements will be made Feb. 28.

Ripley Elementary School in the Ripley School District and Sweetwater Elementary School in the Sweetwater School District have been named this year’s National Title I Distinguished School Award winners.
The National Title I Distinguished Schools Program is a project of the National Title I Association that publicly recognizes schools for their positive educational advances.
