2017-2018 Grant Information          

 

Eligible Partnerships

Partnership is critical to the success of OSRCL programs. Partnerships eligible to apply for an OSRCL grant must include:

  • a continuous feeder pattern structure within a high-needs (see criteria below) district comprised of:
    • elementary schools;
    • one middle school; AND
    • one high school
  • one and no more than two non-profit early childhood providers.

Partnerships may also include:

  • partners that are identified in order to assist meeting established needs identified through a local literacy plan, i.e. institutions of higher education, public libraries, community based tutoring programs, etc.

High-Need Criteria

In an effort to ensure that the greatest number of disadvantaged students receive improved instruction and services through the OSRCL, the OSDE considers a district to be high-needs and eligible to apply for OSRCL funding if it meets the following criterion:

  • The district's free/reduced lunch rate for 2017-18 is 50 percent or higher; AND
  • The district serves students on a five-day school week beginning with the 2018-2019 school year.
    AND one of the following:
  • has at least 20 percent of the district’s student population identified for Special Education services in the 2017-18 school year; OR
  • has at least 10 percent of the district’s student population identified for English Learner services for the 2017-18 school year.

  • January 26, 2018: All Proposals Due by 4:00 pm C.S.T. (Postmarked or Hand Delivered)

  • March 2018: Awardees Announced at Oklahoma State Board of Education Meeting
  • March 15, 2018 – June 30, 2021 –Project Activities
  • March 29, 2018 - Mandatory Post Award Meeting for all Grantees
  • April 2018: Partial Annual Performance Report Due to OSDE
  • October 2018: Full Annual Performance Report Due to OSDE
