Builds off Most Successful Teacher Recruitment Effort in State History
Oklahoma City, Okla – Building off the most successful teacher recruitment effort in state history, State Superintendent Ryan Walters announced a new teacher bonus program today to recruit math and science teachers to Oklahoma’s rural public school districts.
“I am thrilled to continue bringing in highly qualified teachers to Oklahoma classrooms,” said Walters. “Oklahoma is a great place to live and work, and we are making it easier than ever for teachers to come to our great state and have an enormous impact on our young people. We recruited more than 500 teachers to Oklahoma classrooms last school year and this program builds on that innovative model.”
Teachers who did not teach in an Oklahoma public school during the 2023-2024 school year are eligible. Signing bonuses between $15,000 and $25,000 are available:
