A nationwide trainer in PBIS/MTSS will train school staff in implementing a multi tiered system of support within the AWARE districts. Mental health intervention teams will also be established in all AWARE district schools. |

Teachers in AWARE district K-2 schools will be trained in implementing the PAX behavior game in their classrooms. The PAX Good Behavior Game builds self-regulation in young people by creating shared relational frames with adults and peers. By reinforcing desirable behaviors and inhibiting unwanted behaviors, children develop agency and command to delay gratification and reduce impulsivity. This increase in pro-social behavior and self-regulation paves the way for remarkably better academic, behavioral, and lifetime outcomes. | |
All staff in AWARE districts will be trained in YMHFA. Youth Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that gives people the skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. |
