Hofmeister comments on General Revenue failure

Hofmeister applauds committee passage of bills enhancing education

OKLAHOMA CITY (Feb. 20, 2017) – State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister today praised state legislators for moving along several measures aimed at strengthening education.
 
The House Education Committee approved House Bill 2155 to better prepare students for the challenges of college and the workplace through the use of Individual Career and Academic Plans (ICAPs). Oklahoma is one of only a handful of states to not currently have a statewide individual academic plan for students.

Hofmeister reacts to recent school arrests

OKLAHOMA CITY (February 17, 2017) –  In the wake of a Perry Public School principal and a teacher charged with failure to report suspected child molestation, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister today issued the following remarks:
 
“This situation in Perry is a stark reminder to anyone who works in our schools that it is unconscionable to say nothing or look the other way when there is an allegation of an adult victimizing a child.“
