The Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) now seeks applicants every year to serve as content experts for the subject cycle review of instructional materials submitted to the Oklahoma State Textbook Committee (STC) for their consideration and approval. Go to the STC page for the most current subject cycle information. The 2022 subject cycle is Secondary (Grades 6-12) English Language Arts and Grades PreK-12 World Languages Other Than English.
Individuals selected to serve on the STC Content Review Teams will receive training to review materials utilizing a rubric adopted by the STC and will receive access to all vendor-based materials to review for the subject area they will be asked to review.
Individuals are encouraged to apply for the following Content Review Teams for the state cycle for Secondary (Grades 6-12) English Language Arts and Grades PreK-12 World Languages Other Than English.
Grades 6-8 English Language Arts
Grades 9-12 English Language Arts
Grades PreK-12 World Languages Other Than English
Although all meetings are anticipated to occur virtually during the process, The Oklahoma State Department of Education will provide travel reimbursement (mileage, tolls, and/or lodging) and substitute reimbursement for scheduled in-person meetings as needed.
Applicants must have three years of teaching experience within the disciplinary focus and a current Oklahoma teaching or administrative certificate and meet the following additional requirements to apply:
For the Grades 6-12 Secondary English Language Arts Content Review Team, applicants must have a teaching certificate that allows them to teach English Language Arts in grades 6-12. Administrators, instructional coaches, interventionists, librarians, and others with relevant experience and expertise are also encouraged to apply.
For the PreK-12 World Languages Other Than English applicants, applicants must have a teaching certificate that allows them to teach World Languages for grades PreK-12. Administrators and instructional coaches with relevant experience and expertise are also encouraged to apply.
The deadline to apply was April 1, 2022. All applicants have been notified of their acceptance status and are currently reviewing instructional materials.
