OKLAHOMA CITY (October 30, 2018) –
OKLAHOMA CITY (October 25, 2018) – The Oklahoma State Board of Education today approved a Fiscal Year 2020 budget request of $3.35 billion for common education, which includes an increase of more than $440.6 million. The request – among the largest ever for common education – seeks to reduce class sizes and boost critical funding for instruction to support Oklahoma teachers and students after years of severe budget cuts.
OKLAHOMA CITY (October 24, 2018) – In conjunction with Safe Schools Week, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister today announced that the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) has received two federal grants totaling $4 million to bolster safety and security in public schools statewide.
NORMAN (Oct. 23, 2018) — Kindergarten teacher Hailey Couch was surprised today with the national Milken Educator Award at an all-school assembly at Madison Elementary School in Norman. Milken Family Foundation Co-Founder Lowell Milken, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister and U.S. Representative Tom Cole presented Couch with the prestigious award that comes with $25,000.
