OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 28, 2016) — The State Board of Education today removed restrictions on funds for the current school year originally allotted to four specific programs, granting local school districts more flexibility as they prepare to contend with more anticipated budget cuts.
OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 28, 2016) — The Oklahoma State Board of Education today unanimously approved the final draft of new state academic standards for English language arts (ELA) and mathematics, sending the standards to the Legislature for approval and concluding a robust and transparent process of revisions that incorporated feedback from thousands of Oklahomans.
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister thanked the board for its vote and praised the many Oklahomans who took part in creating the new standards.
OKLAHOMA CITY (Jan. 25, 2016) – Dr. Kathryn Dunlap has been named deputy superintendent of assessment and accountability at the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE). In her cabinet-level positon, she will oversee Oklahoma’s state testing program and school accountability measures.
